Phyllis K Smith

Phyllis K. Smith, 86, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Nags Head North Carolina.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday June 29, 2018 at St Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am June 29, 2018 at St. Columba Church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Phyllis was born October 19, 1931 in LaSalle, Illinois to Ermin and Helen (Rossiter) Aussem. She married Roland J. Smith "Smitty" on November 20, 1954 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa, he died March 1, 1999.

Phyllis was a Nurse at the Ottawa Hospitals, starting with Ryburn King Memorial Hospital and Nursing School. She retired in 2012. She was a member of St Columba Church, and the Illinois Nurses Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Jan (Russell) Paoletti of Park Ridge, Il. and two sons Jim Smith of Dallas TX and Greg Smith of Ottawa six Grandchildren Samantha, Sean, Brian and Luke Paoletti, Jack and Hope Smith.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, one sister Marilyn Battistelli and one brother Paul Aussem

Pallbearers will be grandsons Sean, Brian, Luke Paoletti, Jack Smith and her nephews Bob and Brian Battistelli

Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Church.
