Philomena J. Skolek, 84, of Ottawa passed away May 31, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Healthcare and Hospital. Funeral Service will be 10:00AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 Friday, June 3 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Philomena was born May 19, 1927 in Antwerpen, Belgium to Henri and Julia Lust. She worked as a fashion model in Antwerpen, Belgium. She married Walter L. Skolek May 10, 1947 in Ottawa, Illinois. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Walter; one son, Walter R. Skolek of Ottawa; one daughter, Dianne (William) Yarbrough of Peoria; two grandchildren, Bryan R. Clairmont and Julia Clairmont both of Peoria; and one cousin, Albert Janssens of Antwerpen, Belgium. She is preceded in death by her parents.
