Phillis Ahasic

Phillis Ahasic, 71, of Ottawa, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00pm on Thursday, April 13, at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 10:00am on Friday, April 14, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Phillis was born November 26, 1951, in Shawneetown, IL, to Lawrence and Delithia (Lee) Goforth. She married Stephen Ahasic on June 30, 1991 at Starved Rock. He passed away August 18, 2015.

Phillis worked for Caterpillar in Aurora for many years and retired from Meijer in 2009. She loved people and enjoyed many trips to Florida to be near the Gulf of Mexico. She was the strongest, most resilient, and loving person you could know.

She is survived by her children, Joey Chiovatero, Chris Ahasic, Tristan Ahasic, and Megan Ahasic; and her three grandchildren, Lucy, henry, and Genevieve Ahasic.

Phillis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
