Phillip Hughes

Phillip Hughes, 50, of Ottawa, IL, died, Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm, Thursday, October 8 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Phillip Hughes was born, August 5, 1959, in Ottawa, to William and Antoinette (Pandolfi) Hughes. He farmed the Hughes family farm and was the "Rock"to our family. He is survived by his longtime love, Betsy Bellario of South Elgin; two sons, Jason (Ashley) Hughes of Des Plaines, Matthew (Samantha) Hughes of Ottawa and their mother, Sue Weygand; a soon to be grandson, Branson Phillip Hughes; four sisters; Julie (Rodney) Bailey of Wedron, Linda (Merle) Walter of McNabb, Mary (Kevin) Calhan of Grand Ridge, and Beth (Craig) Walsh of Ottawa; two brothers; Pat (Sue) Hughes, and Jeff Hughes both of Ottawa; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Dan, Leo, Bill, and one brother in infancy. Pallbearers will be nephews Dan, Joe, and Eddie Walsh, Ryan Hughes, Robert Calhan, and friend James Sampson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timothy Perry, Jeff and Pat Hughes. Memorials may be directed to the family.
