Patti Spence

Patti Spence, 70, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Patti was born February 24, 1955 in Ottawa, IL, to Peter and Angelina (Mulinazzi) Tassoni. She attended George P. Hills Elementary School and then Ottawa High School. She pursued further education in Peoria. She later served her country in the United States Army. Patti worked along side her husband at Spence's Bakery. She was an avid Cubs fan. In high school, she was a track star, though she had to forfeit going to state due to Injury.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Spence; her sisters, Rose (Tom) Spence and Nancy Toni Martinez; 18 nieces and nephews; as well as 14 great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Angelina; her husband, Edwin Spence; her brother Peter Tassoni; and her nephew.
