Patrick Raymond Rosales, 96, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at The Pavilion of Ottawa.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from11:00am until 2:00pm, at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00pm, at the funeral home, with Fr. Michael Driscoll officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Columba Cemetery.
Ray was born March 17, 1927, in Ottawa, IL, to Luciano and Herminia Rosales. He married Vera Padilla, at the age of 19, on September 14, 1948.
He served one term in the United States Army during the Korean War. When he returned, He went to work for the Rock Island Railroad. After a 36 year career, he retired from CSX Railroad. In his free time, He enjoyed doing puzzles and was always scrapbooking family events. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family and his Army buddies. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family, especially his dog, Chatha. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his children, Larry (Phyliss) Rosales, Marilyn (Rodger) Thompson, Diane (Rick) Lane, Ricky (Virginia) Rosales, and Patrick (Dawn) Rosales Jr.; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; and his sister, Vera Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his siblings, Mary Ruiz, Amador Rosales, AnnaLee Rosales, Arlene Elliot, Max Rosales, and Rose Rosales.
Pallbearers will be Gary Jennings, Jim Jennings, Ryan Mason, Jonah Mason, Steve Rosales, and Phil Rosales. Honorary pallbearers will be Winter, Hailey, and Tina.
