Patricia Bey

Patricia (O'Connell) Bey, 85, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service for Patricia will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Patricia was born February 9, 1928, in Ottawa, Illinois, to John and Frances (Glacinski) O'Connell. She married Edward T. Sprague in 1947 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He died in 1959. She then married Spencer J. Twait in 1960. Later in life, Patricia married William "Bill" Bey. She was owner and operator of Teen & Tot clothing store in Ottawa on Main Street. She was currently working in private home care for the elderly. Patricia was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She is survived by three daughters, Judith Sprague of Ottawa, Candy (Sam) Sheneman of Ottawa, and Tammy (Chris) Mathews of Normal; one son, Fred Sprague of Ottawa; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Newell of Ottawa; and her in home caregiver, Debbie Stratton. Patricia is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Donald O'Connell. Pallbearers will be Chris Mathews, Dustin Mathews, Stuart Spencer, Jim Patarozzi, Johnnie DeClue, and Sam Sheneman. Memorials may be directed to the family.
