Norma Mcnamara

Heaven gained another Angel today. Norma McNamara, 81, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Norma was born July 18, 1933, in Naplate, to Raymond and Elizabeth (Boyer) Fast. She married William McNamara on Nov. 22, 1952. She was a proud wife of a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer. She was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a devoted Catholic, a Cubs fan, she loved to play Scrabble and cards and read her astrology books with her loved ones. Her last giving gift, Norma was a skin and tissue donor. She is survived by her five children, Colleen (Mark) Matson, of Ottawa, and extended family, Daniel (Faith) McNamara, of Ottawa, and extended family, Susan McNamara, of Joliet, and extended family, Tom (Donna) McNamara, of Ottawa, and extended family, and Kimberly (Rick Lewis) McNamara, of Ottawa; her special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christie and Brittany Carver, Kady, Tom and Taylor Lewis, Destini McNamara, Jarrin Francis and Daniel Soto; a sister, Darlene Walker, of Ottawa; and all the chosen ones she embraced as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William; three sisters, Katherine Sibert, Bonnie Sexton and Elizabeth Carrier; and one brother, Raymond Fast. Memorials may be directed to the family.
