Nellie Elizabeth (Rudnicky) Bardson

On Friday September 30, 2022, Nellie Elizabeth Bardson, 95, of Ottawa, IL was called home by God to reap the rewards of her faith and perseverance.

Funeral Services will be at noon on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Nicolas Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 am until the time of service at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Nellie was born February 13, 1927, in Ottawa, IL, to Joseph and Mary (Chajkowski) Rudnicky . She married Howard Bardson on May 19, 1951 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate.

She attended and graduated both George P. Hill School in Naplate and Ottawa Twp. High School. She had been a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate and was a devout catholic. Nellie found joy in raising her family and watching them grow side by side with her husband. She loved the summer season and savored the gifts it brought, squeezing every moment she could out of it. Spending her days in the sun nurturing the earth. Nellie loved to work in her yard and garden, planting flowers and taking time to read.

She is survived by her two sons, David and Brian (Joyce) Bardson; and two granddaughters, Maggie Pagakis and Molly Bardson. She cherished her two great grandchildren Brody and Brinxlei Pagakis.  She had many nieces and nephews, having a special bond with Linda Beck Anderson and Wendy Rudnicky Greenrod.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard; a son Gary; three brothers James, John and Walter; and a great granddaughter Brenlee Pagakis  .
