Nancy Ellen (Oliver) Underwood

Nancy Ellen Underwood, 65, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements. Nancy was born May 11, 1956 in Joiner, Arkansas to Charles Freddy and Jessie Marie (Burggett) Oliver. She married Dennis Koehler and together they had one son. She married Garry Underwood and together they had two children; he passed away December 1991. Nancy was a devoted member of Joppa Methodist Church in Metropolis. She was an active volunteer, always helping with the clothes closet and food pantry in Montgomery, IL. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and cherished her time spent with her family. She is survived by three children, Dennis (Lisa Randazzo) Koehler, Jr. of Rochelle, Jesse (Stacey) Underwood of Rockford, and Heidi (Jeff Francis) Underwood of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Cherish, Mason, Zak, and Adalynn; two sisters, Barbara (Paul) King of Steward, IL and Patricia Nicholas of Rochelle; two brothers, Johnny (Sue) and Larry Oliver; and her favorite cat, Crazy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Garry; and two sisters, Judy Ramirez and Joyce Terry. Memorials may be directed to her family.
