Myrtle Wilson, 97, of Seneca passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at her daughter's home in Tennessee.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Saturday, March 9 at the First Assembly of God Church in Seneca with Rev. Jason Sprinkle and Rev. Roger Willis officiating. Her visitation will be from 9 to 11 am, two hours prior to services, Saturday at the church. She will be buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Seneca. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with her services.
Myrtle was born August 6, 1921 in Reed Springs, Missouri to Thomas and Lillie May (Leigh) Harris. She married Rev. Roy F. Wilson October 13, 1940 at First Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri; he passed away July, 13, 2008. As a teenager, Myrtle performed with a roller skating dance team of Friday nights at Doling Park and performed as a singer on the local radio station in Springfield, MO. Myrtle taught Sunday school for over 40 years, was the Seneca contact for the Salvation Army, and she was an avid Cardinals fan. Myrtle also worked in the Seneca Shipyard offices and at the Little Skipper School during WWII.
She is survived by four children, Nancy (Hon. Donald) Tegeler, Mary (Jim) Haider, Roy "Bill" (Nancy) Wilson, and Thelma (Ron) Stacy; her grandchildren, Don "DJ" (Lisa) Tegeler, Kimberly (Eric) Hendrickson, Bryan Stacy, Jessica (Steve)Nasson, and Dr. Alyssa (Nick) Streff; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Matthew John Porter; and her brother, James Harris.
In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to First Assembly of God in Seneca.
