Mildred F. Rutherford

Mildred F. Rutherford, 96, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Pleasant View Luther Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Thursday, May 10 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Wednesday, May 9 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Mildred was born June 9, 1921 in Ottawa to William and Flora (Lang) Kobold. She married Charles R. Rutherford on July 8, 1941 in St. Columba Church; he passed away February 4, 1993. Mildred retired from The Daily Times Newspaper in 1988. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis Altar & Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, and crocheting. Mildred loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Rutherford of Springfield, MO; her daughter-in-law, Carol Rutherford of Grand Blanc, MI; four grandchildren, Kellie (Don) Sullivan, Brad (Kerrie) Rutherford, Scott (Becca) Rutherford, and Whitney Rutherford; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Gary Rutherford; and her brother, Kenneth Kobold. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
