Mildred R. Marek

Mildred R. Marek, 97, of Ottawa died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Pleasant View. Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 15 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Arrangements were entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Mildred was born March 31, 1913 to August and Marie (Jakos) Zak in Chicago, Illinois. She married Benjamin Marek August 31, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. He died June 3, 1987. She is survived by two nephews, Allan of Menifee, CA, and Robert (Susan) Mertz of Cohasset, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Marek; four sisters, Elsie Mertz, Libby, Silvia, and June; one brother-in-law, Elmer Mertz. Memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
