Mildred Knudtson

Mildred Knudtson, 92, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday morning, July 16, 2012 at Pleasant View. Funeral Service for Mildred will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Ward from Pleasant View officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Mildred was born February 5, 1920 in Malta, Illinois to Van and Blanche (Worden) Quincer. She married Russell Knudtson on February 16, 1944 at the bride's home in Malta. He passed away January 3, 2003. She graduated from Malta High School and Northern Illinois State Teachers College with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of Fist United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Pleasant View. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Deborah) of Serena and Jack (Jenifer) of Ottawa; a son-in-law, James Artz; four grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Mussatto, JacLynne (Carl) Smith, Lauren (Jake) LaReaux, and Nicholas (Elizabeth) Knudtson; and four great grandchildren, Chloe, Lucas, Joshua, and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; a daughter, Linda Artz; and two brothers, Willard and Martin Quincer.
