Mildred Dunn

Mildred (Meaney) Dunn, 93, of Princeton (formerly of Ottawa & Tonica) passed away peacefully on April 6, 2013 at Manor Court in Princeton with her family by her side. A funeral mass to honor her life will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:30am at St. Columba Church in Ottawa with the Reverend David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 - 11:30am Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Columba Church. Burial will take place on Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Columba Cemetery. The Ottawa Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Millie was born on October 28, 1919 in LaSalle, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Sallers) Grubb. She married Lawrence (Yay) Meaney in 1938. He passed away on September 5, 1986. She is survived by her current husband of 33 years, James (Jay) Dunn of Princeton, Illinois and her daughters , Laurie Scott of Conroe, Texas, Marlene (Dave) Husemann of Princeton, Susan (John) Bailey of Ottawa, daughter-in-law Marie (Larry) Meaney of Earlville, grandchildren Jeff, Tim, Kelley Jo and Kerry Lynn Scott Kathy Lanham, Shelley Yates, David and Darcy Husemann, Bryan Meaney, Steve and Matt Bailey, 13 great and 11 great-great grandchildren, a niece Bethany Burke of Tomah, WI and step-daughter, Carol (Mike) Vaughn of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her children, Sharon Lee and Larry (Butch) Meaney, her sisters Viola Bohm and Elaine Beutler, two nieces and her second husband Dale McCloud. Millie touched many lives with her kindness and she devoted her life to her family and the many friendships she enjoyed over the years. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers and was an exceptional cook and baker of great pies. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church in Leonore for many years and was a member of the Ladd Moose where she and Jay belonged to the "Over 60 Club", where they faithfully met each month to share in a pot luck lunch with their friends.
