Mike Wheatland

Michael T. Wheatland passed away peacefully Saturday, June 18th 2022 at St Anthony Medical Center Rockford after a fight with Cerebral Seizures.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 21 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church, with Msgr. Merdian officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Mike was born November 13th, 1968 in Ottawa to Gary "Joe" and Barbara (Scherer) Wheatland.

He graduated from Walllace Grade ('83) and Marquette High School ('87). Mike and his Dad were the Proprietors of Mike's Keg and Kork in LaSalle for several years. Mike was also a client at Friendship Village and worked in the Vocational workshop, after closing shop in LaSalle. Mike loved to watch his niece and nephews play sports and made it known that he was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He is survived by his brothers, Martin (Julie Mucci) and Richard (Shelley Zaccagnini); two nephews, Casey Wheatland and Joseph Wheatland; and one niece, Ellen Wheatland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
