Mikalee Landers

Mikalee Landers, 73, of Ottawa, IL, died Friday August 21, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Tuesday August 25, 2009 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6:30 Monday, August 24th at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:00. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Mikalee was born January 19, 1936, in Arma, KS, to Hugh and Martha (King) McGill. She married Thomas P. Landers Sr. July 22, 1961 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. She worked for State Farm Insurance Company in the 1950's and then retired from LaSalle Co. Farm Bureau in the 70's. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa, Catholic Daughters of Americas, LaSalle County Stamp Club, and Great Britian Collectors Club. She is survived by her husband; one son, Thomas Jr. (Kim) Landers of Norway; one daughter, Rhonda (Ken) Bell of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Brandon and Michael Bell, and Bridget and John Landers; and one sister Joann (Orville) Bruce of Ottawa. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rebecca Jo Landers; two brothers, Thomas and Hugh McGill; and two sisters, Waunita Fornelli and Matilda Michael. Pallbearers will be Ron Shipley, Dave Buckley, Jason Bruce, Jerry Sexton, and Brandon and Michael Bell. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's School or St. Mary's Nursing Division.
