Michael Shumack

Michael Shumack, 74, of Amboy, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Michael was born October 7, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to Michael and Anne (Grepelis) Shumack. He married Sandra Dragunas on November 20, 1971 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Chicago.

He worked as an operating engineer for Local 150 for over 50 years. He and his family enjoyed spending time at Woodhaven Lakes in Sublette. He loved to fish and never missed an opportunity to go out. He was an active leader for the Boy Scouts of America for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Shumack; his children, Brian and Kevin Shumack; his grandchildren, Matthew (Myrissa Garcia) Shumack and Kayla Shumack; and his great grandchildren, LJ Breithbarth and Athena Shumack. He was preceded in death by his parents and his half brother, Eugene Foxen.
