OTTAWA -- Michael Pannella, 48, of Ottawa, died Jan. 16, in Sheridan. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Pannella was born June 29, 1959, in Newton, Mass., to Joseph and Lorraine (Daley) Pannella. He served in the Navy from January 1976 until July 1996, retiring after 20 years of service. He received five Navy achievement medals, five sea tours, and two special ops service ribbons. He worked as a production supervisor at Wisehamlin Plastics in St. Charles from August 1996 until December 1997. He was the plant manager of Plano Molding Co. from January 1998 until October 2003. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He is survived by two daughters, Katherine Pannella of Oak Park and Laura (Aaron) Pannella-Winn of Chicago; a stepdaughter, Angela Padilla of Ottawa; two stepsons, Jonathon and Benjamin Padilla, both of Aurora; a granddaughter, Maria Cannuli of Ottawa; a best friend, Robert Weber of Sheridan; his former spouse, Ellen Anderson of Ottawa; three sisters, Teresa (Gino) Mailhot of Manchester, N.H., LeeAnn (Jim) Shawley of Newport, Maine, Lisa (Scott) Nelson of Natick, Mass.; three brothers, James (Karen) Pannella of Anapolis, Md., Carl (Lori) Trainer of Gotha, Fla., Jim Trainer of Fountain, Colo.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; and three brothers, John and Mike Trainer and Joe Pannella.
