Michael Oslanzi

Michael J. "Mike" Oslanzi, 71, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held at 4 pm, Saturday, December 21 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home.

Mike was born January 10, 1948, in Ottawa to Martin J. and Nina "Virginia" (Snell) Oslanzi. He attended St. Columba Grade School and graduated from Marquette High School in 1966. Mike worked at Snap-On Tools for many years and retired from S.J. Smith Welding Supply. He enjoyed hiking, walking, and being outdoors. Mike was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Karin (Jamie) Kummer and James Oslanzi, both of Ottawa; his grandson, William Kummer; his brother, Marty (Mary) Oslanzi of Marseilles; and his sister, Barbara (Harley) Carberry of Council Bluffs, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Bessie Oslanzi and Kay Hickman.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Michael, Terry, and Steve Carberry, Mark and Brian Hickman, Christopher and Steve Oslanzi.
