Michael G. Myer

Michael G. Myer, 57, of Ottawa, died Saturday, March 7, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Williams of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Thursday. He was born July 30, 1951, in Ottawa, to Howard and Doris (Krug) Myer. He married Deborah Armstrong on Nov.27, 1971, at Evangelical United Methodist Church. He farmed north of Ottawa and was a member of La Salle County Farm Bureau and the U.S. Army Reserve. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Heather (Timothy) Griffith of Bloomington and Jami (Ryan) Muffler of Morris; four grandchildren, Madelynne, Ryan and Courtney Griffith and Miranda Muffler and a grandchild due in April; one sister, Beverly (Donald) Bennett of Zion; and two brothers, Leon (Mary Ann) Phelps and Daniel (Kathie) Myer, both of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Jennifer L. Myer, in infancy. Pallbearers will be Ryan Muffler, Timothy Griffith, Jonathan Osthus, John Krug, John Robin Dodd, Connor Armstrong, Thomas Myer and Randy, Richard and Robert Phelps. Memorials may be made to Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa.
