Michael "Mickey" Leal

Michael (Mickey) J. Leal, 72, of Ottawa, passed away on November 15, 2020. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Graveside services at St. Columba Cemetery will immediately follow. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mick was born on September 2, 1948 to Joseph Jess and Cora (Miller) Leal. He married Patricia Hollahan on April 21, 1979 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marseilles, Illinois.

Mickey retired from LOF/Pilkington in 2000 after 32 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Mick spent his retirement years playing golf at Dayton Ridge Golf Course and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He always considered his family as his greatest accomplishment, they meant the world to him.

Mick is survived by his wife, Pat; his children, Michelle (John) Krodel of San Antonio, TX, Michael of Ottawa, Joseph (Erica) Leal of Menifee, CA, Shawn (Michael) Christie of Lancaster, CA, Anna (John) Wright of Ottawa, and Marco (Kristie) of Ottawa, 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; siblings Patti (Jim) Myers and Kevin (Heather) Leal of Ottawa, brother-in-law Larry Simmons of Pekin and sister-in-law Kathy Leal of Ottawa.

We hope Mickey is pain-free and playing the perfect golf game in Heaven, where he has been reunited with his parents and siblings; Juanita Simmons, Randy Leal, and Wayne Leal.

In tribute to Mickey, his family invites all attendees to show their support by wearing their favorite Cubs attire.
