Michael Duffield

Michael Duffield, 50, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to services Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. He will be buried in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Michael was born October 9, 1964 in Ottawa, Illinois to Russell and Mary (Helffrich) Duffield. He was a member of St. Francis Church. Michael enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and Bears, but most of all he loved John Wayne. His favorite past times were sitting on the front porch swing and being outdoors. He enjoyed walking with his mom daily along Gentleman Road. Michael loved all kinds of people; he never met a stranger. He greeted everyone with a big smile and a handshake. He is survived by his mother, Mary; one sister, Gail (Bill) Peters; one brother, Mark (Nancy Warrner) Duffield; and one niece, Sarah-Marie Duffield. He is preceded in death by his father.
