Michael Van Cleave

Michael Van Cleave, 53, of Dekalb, formerly of Seneca, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 15, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church of Seneca with Father Ray Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Michael was born April 8, 1961 in Ottawa, Illinois to William and Dorene (Mooneyham) Van Cleave. He worked for Northern Illinois University. He is survived by his mother, Dorene; one daughter, Katelyn Van Cleave; two brothers, Stephen Van Cleave and Thomas Van Cleave; two sisters, Beth (Jim) Close and Lisa (Edward) Hauck; four nieces and nephews, Jennifer Skaggs, James Close, Kristen and Casey Hauck; and two great-nieces and nephews, Evan and Kirstyn Skaggs. He is preceded in death by his father, William Van Cleave; one niece, Angela Pinder; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Pallbearers will be Casey Hauck, James Close, Mark McGill, Dan Kerr, Jim Close, and Ed Hauck. Memorials may be directed to family.
