Michael C. Castelli

Michael Christopher Castelli, 32, of Ottawa passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 25 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Visitation will be 4 - 7 pm Monday, July 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 3:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Michael was born June 12, 1985 in Ottawa to Robert and Barbara (Markut) Castelli. Michael attended St. Patrick's School, then graduated from Marquette High School in 2003. During high school, Michael played basketball for two years and varsity baseball all four years. He was an avid basketball player in many local leagues. Michael enjoyed fishing, playing cards and poker, riding his bike, and golfing. He loved his dogs Lucky and Rocky. Michael will always be remembered as a humble, caring and compassionate person to all. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Barb, both of Ottawa; his brother, Bobby (Leigh) Castelli of San Marcos, CA; and his niece and nephew, Chiara and Carsten Castelli. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Bob Castelli, Bobby Castelli, Tyler Debernardi, Josh Thumm, and Kevin and Jeff Lindell. Memorials may be directed to the family to be dispersed to local charities.
