Merc Navarro

Merc Navarro, 80, of Ottawa, IL passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Arrangements were entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Merc was born September 24, 1930 in Ottawa, IL to Jess and Mary Navarro. He married Benita K. Mann August 11, 1956 in Ottawa. She died May 24, 1994. He was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Merc was a member of Knights of Columbus. He retired from BWD. Merc is survived by one daughter, Noreen (Sam) Fiorella of Frankfort, IL; two sons, Mark and Dale Navarro, both of Ottawa; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Sheahan of Minnesota, and Delores Hanley, Carmen Kirgan, both of Ottawa; and one brother, Richard Navarro of Joliet, IL.
