Maxine Mansfield

Maxine Mansfield, 88, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Service for Maxine will be 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. Maxine was born February 22, 1924 in Oil City, PA. She graduated from Oil City High School in 1942. She married Jack Mansfield March 15, 1946. She loved family gatherings and her friends in Oil City, PA, Long Island, NY, Chicago, Cicero and Ottawa, IL. After being a housewife, she worked as a banquet waitress, bar maid, and caregiver. She loved to crochet, do jigsaw puzzles, and winning at pinochle, hearts and poker. Maxine was the mother of four children, Paul (Bonnie) Mansfield of Magnolia, TX, Judy (James) Hastings of Norfolk, AR, Theresa Corcoran of Ottawa and James Mansfield (deceased); she was the grandmother of ten, Denise, Paula, Laura, Donna, Kurt, Koreen, Kristen, Daniel, David, and Scott; great grandmother of sixteen, Michael, Richard, Steven, Rob, Nico, Seth, Haley, Paige, Megan, Justin, Alek, Destinee, Landon, Gavin, Tegan, and Erin; and the great great grandmother of Joey and Emma. She has now been returned to the arms of her beloved son, Jimmy; her parents, Leon and Julia (Confer) Snyder; and her sister, Bernice Hankey. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
