Maureen was born January 9, 1939 in Ottawa to William and Helen (McGarr) Wolfe.
She attended St. Columba Grade School and Marquette High School. Maureen completed her undergraduate degree at St. Mary's of Notre Dame and received her Masters of Arts Degree from University of Notre Dame. Maureen taught at Riley High School in South Bend, IN, then for many years at Serena High School and Marquette High School where she sponsored many clubs and was active in theater productions. Maureen also enjoyed shopping and buying for others, and decorating her house for different holidays.
Maureen was a member of the Ottawa Community Players and both appeared and directed numerous plays in Ottawa. She enjoyed gardening, travel, and going to the theater. When she was a little girl, a puppy followed her home and she named her Lightening. This began her lifelong love of animals, particularly dogs. Maureen was very proud to be one of the first female graduates of Notre Dame, and also that she was 100% of Irish descent.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Reardon; a nephew, Gary (Heather) Reardon; a niece, Helen Jo Reardon; and a very special great-niece, Emily Reardon.
Pallbearers will be Mike Schneider, George Alaimo, EJ Werth, Tom Walsh, Roger Hooper, and Mike Etscheid.
Maureen was truly a giving person and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
