Mary Irene Walsh

Mary Irene Walsh, 100, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, May 26, at St. Columba Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Catholic Daughters of the Americas will say prayers at 9:30 am at the church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home.

Mary was born September 9, 1921, in Ottawa, IL, to John and Mary (O'Donnell) Walsh.

She was retired from Jefferson Elementary School after 35 years of teaching. She was a member of St. Columba Church and a 75 year member of CD of A .

She is survived by two sisters, Marge Aubry and Joanne Stortz; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas (Marilyn)Walsh and Leo in infancy; two sisters, Rita (John) Pillion and Catherine (Donald) Harmon; and her two brother-in-laws, Harold Aubry and Jack Stortz.

Pallbearers will be Paul Aubry, Steve Klein, Greg Harmon, John Walsh, Jay Stortz and Brian Farrell.
