Mary Vercolio

OTTAWA -- Mary D. Vercolio, 85, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:30 p.m. and Catholic Daughters of America in attendance. Miss Vercolio was born July 28, 1922, in Benld, Ill., to Dominic and Victoria (Baima) Vercolio. She retired from Illinois Bell Telephone after 22 years. She was a member of St. Columba Church and its Altar and Rosary society, Legion of Mary, CDA and AARP. She is survived by a brother, Dominic (Nancy) Vercolio of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a brother, Pete Vercolio. Memorials may be directed to St. Columba School.
