Mary Ann Simcich

Mary Ann Simcich, 75, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with Rev. Mike Adrie officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Mary Ann was born March 14, 1938, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Anselmo and Mary (Cavatorta) Mucci. She married James Simcich on January 19, 1957, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a receptionist at Mucci and Kirkpatrick Sheet Metal until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate. She is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Susan (Steven) Nichols of West Dundee and Karen (David) Galvan of Buffalo Grove; four grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Nichols and Sarah and Katie Galvan; two brothers, Sam (Barb) Mucci of Largo, FL and Bill (Deb) Mucci of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers will be Sarah Galvan, Angela Mucci, Mario Mucci, David Galvan, Steven Nichols, and Dave Fowler. Memorials may be directed to Masses or Donors' Choice.
