Mary Sheedy

Mary E. Sheedy, 94, of Oviedo, Florida, formerly of Ottawa passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at her home in Florida. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am, one hour prior to services at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She will be entombed at The Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park. Mary was born July 27, 1917 in Streator, Illinois to William J and Kathleen (O'Connell) Schmitz. She married D. Russell Sheedy May 30, 1940; he passed away June 20, 1997. She retired from Amoco Company where she worked with her loving husband. She was a member of St. Francis Church, St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of Americas. She is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" Wells of Bonita Springs, FL, Margaret "Peggy" Menees of Seneca, and Sarah "Sally" Smith of Oviedo, FL; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; and three brothers. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
