Mary Provance

Mary Provance, 58, of Seneca, passed away in peace on January 27, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family. Her memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Fox River Lutheran Church in Sheridan with Pastor Kevin Garner officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Mary was born on December 20, 1955, in Ottawa, to Lawrence and Emily (Pyszka) Kaufmann. She married Gregory D. Provance on September 20, 1975. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and "Grammy". She created an environment in her home where her doors were always open to family and friends. She attended nearly every activity imaginable for her children, grandchildren and family members, and was always the last one to leave the gym/event. Mary will also be remembered as an aerobic instructor, beautician, and for leading a life of service. She attended Fox River Lutheran Church in Sheridan and most importantly had a very close and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith, courage, and strength through her lengthy battle with Leukemia was an inspiration to a countless number of people. Mary is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gregory Provance; five children, Adam (Breanna) Provance, Amy (Brian) Mino, Julie Provance, Suzanne (Cory) Yandell, and David Provance; eight (going on nine) grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, and Emma Mino, Lane, Graysen, and Quinn Provance, Tenley and Cartlan Yandell; a sister, Susan (James) Aubry, and six brothers, Carl (Dottie) Kaufmann, Ed (Francie) Kaufmann, Tom (Leslie) Kaufmann, Steve (Kathy) Kaufmann, Jack (Patti) Kaufmann and Joe (Cheryl) Kaufmann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Emily Kaufmann. Memorials may be directed to Fox River Lutheran Church in Sheridan or Northwestern Memorial Hospital in her name.
