Mary J. McGeorge, 86, of Seneca, Il, died Wednesday May 27, 2009, at RiverShores Care Center in Marseilles. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Saturday May 30, 2009 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday May 29, at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Mary was born March 12, 1923, in Busch Missouri to Fritz and Alpha (Wood) Ehret. She married Eugene McGeorge on April 18, 1942 in Hannibal, Missouri. She was a member of the American Legion Womens' Auxillary Post # 457, and was also a supporter of the Salvation Army. Besides being an active volunteer at church, she also earned the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Marseilles Chapter of Neighborly Older Americans (N.O.A.). She is survived by three sons, Patrick (Della) and George (Rox) both of Seneca, and Ernest (Sandy) of Marseilles; three daughters, Hazel (Steve) Shanks and Eula (Rick) Mitchell, both of Seneca, and Mary Lou (Charles) Fielding of Washburn, MO.; twenty one grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Fred (Verneta) of New London, MO, Andrew (Maureen) of Martinsburg, MO, and George (Bev) Ehret of Seneca; two sisters, Pauline Thompkins of Hannibal, MO, and Lola Bell Sinclair of Seneca. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, a brother Lawrence, and a daughter Ginger. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons. Memorials may be directed to Donor's Choice.
