Mary Katherine Mccormick

Mary Katherine McCormick, 96, of Ottawa, IL, died, Friday, November 6, 2009 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday November 11, 2009 at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday November 10, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in attendance. Mary McCormick was born, July 20, 1913, in Wallace Twp., to Robert and Mary (Walsh) Begley. She married J. Vincent McCormick on December 26, 1936 at St. Columba Church. He died July 8, 1984 She Taught in the Wallace Twp Schools for 12 years and in later years had worked for the Illinois Dept. of Employment Security. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Alter and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She is survived by two daughters Mary Jane (James) Aussem of Ottawa, IL, and Ann (Ronald) Robinson of Grand Ridge, IL.; five grandchildren, James and Robert (Beth) Aussem, both of Ottawa, Thomas (Scott Toppel) Aussem of Villa Park, Kerri Robinson of Ottawa and Katie (Garland) Smith of Ft. Bragg, NC; and one great-Grandchild, Aislinn Jensen Aussem . She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and one brother Robert Begley and one sister Katherine Riva. Pallbearers will be Nick Schank, Ronald Robinson, Jim, Bob, and Tom Aussem, and Kerri Robinson. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Grade School.
