Patricia Kelly Lynch, 90, of Springfield, passed away at 11:38 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Patricia was born June 30, 1920 in Freeport, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Cavanaugh Putnam. She married Edward F. Kelly on April 8, 1944 in New Jersey. He preceded her in death in June 1976. She then married John "Jack" Lynch on July 2, 1977 in Springfield. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2006. Patricia received her Bachelor of Science degree from Sangamon State and worked with various departments within Illinois State government for 25 years. She had been a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and corresponding and communicating with family and old friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Liam. She is survived by three sons, Edward (wife, Judith) Kelly of Ottawa, Daniel (wife, Melissa) Kelly of Champaign and Roger Kelly of Springfield; two daughters, Judith (husband, Kenneth) Gordon of Moscow, ID and Marilyn (husband, Donald) McNally of Rockton; one step-son, Gregory (wife, Debra) Lynch of Emigrant, MT; one step-daughter, Ronalee (husband, Edwin) Johnson of Gardener, MT; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
