Mary Leki

Mary K. Leki, 89, of Naplate, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with Rev. Mike Adrie officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:30 on Tuesday, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mary was born September 8, 1923, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Frank and Frances (Ellwart) Koenig. She married Stanley Leki on April 7, 1945, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He passed away February 14, 1997. She was a cook for Annes Hide Away and at Hank's. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, their Altar and Rosary Society, and Peoria Diocesan Cursillo. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Christy of Naplate, Karen (David) Helser of Waltham Township, Sally Graham of rural Marseilles, and Sue (John) Hughes of rural Streator; eight grandchildren, Jeff Christy, Kim Anderson, Kayla Burke, Tom and Heather Graham, Kate Reed, and Jack and Erin Hughes; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Klingerman of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Zachary Helser; two brothers, Oscar Koenig and Carl Koenig; and one sister, Margaret Iverson. Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Church.
