Mary "Enid" Kirkpatrick, 90, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, November 1st at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday November 5, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Polly Klimson officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Enid was born July 29, 1919 in Colchester, IL to Orlow and Leona (Bonn) Horrell. She married Raymond Kirkpatrick on November 13, 1936 and together they shared many happy times until he died on September 17, 2003. She attended Roseville Schools and graduated from Roseville High School. After she married, they lived in Roseville, Lone Tree, IA, West Liberty, IA, Princeton, IL, and moved to Ottawa in 1950. She is survived by her son, Gary (Carol) Kirkpatrick of Ottawa and a daughter, Sharon (Denny) Jereb of Lafayette, IN; four grandchildren, Mike Kirkpatrick of Ottawa, Debbie (Vinnie) Guerrero of Yuma, AZ, and Rick (Betsy) Jereb of Apex, NC; and twelve great grandchildren. Enid worked at Country Companies Insurance, Andrews Insurance Agency, Kirkpatrick's State Farm Agency and was very active in real estate. She loved her family and friends, and doing for others. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Pioneer Group. She and Ray had boats which they shared with family and friends, and had belonged to Starved Rock Yacht Club. She loved playing bridge at the Elks Club and the Ottawa Boat Club, and playing bingo at LaSalle County Nursing Home. She was a pink Lady of the Community Hospital of Ottawa and worked their annual Bizaars. She led tours of the Reddick Mansion as a Docent. She enjoyed being a part of the Ottawa Community Players and Ottawa Woman's Club. She was a past President and 50 year member of LaSalle County Homemaker's Extension Association. Enid and Ray spent 25 winters at Parsley's Mobile Home Park in Reddington Shores, FL and shared many happy times with friends. Enid was preceded in death by her Husband, Ray; her parents; one brother, Everett; and her granddaughter, Jill Leann (Jereb) Harshman. Memorials may be directed to the family to dedicate a park bench at Reddick's Mansion.
