Mary Johnson

Mary Johnson, 73, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Crossbridge Church of the Nazarene, 4161 Columbus St., Ottawa, with a dinner to follow.  Pastor Sam Laurey will Officiate. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Mary was born March 4, 1949, in Aurora, IL, to Herman and Eileen (McCourt) May. She married William Johnson on May 31, 1969 in Aurora, IL. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2022.

She was extremely active with Crossbridge Church. She was instrumental in the Celebrate Recovery organization. She loved to travel with her husband and always wanted to go back to Hawaii. She especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids, and family meant the most to her.

She is survived by her three children, Lora (Ronald) Cole, Mathew (Katie) Johnson, and Angela Weisleader; her 18 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her two brothers, Kevin and Sean May.
