Mary Halm

Mary R. Halm, 94, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mary was born February 9, 1921 in Ottawa, Illinois to Lawrence and Ellen (Burke) Rose. She married Arthur Halm on November 29, 1947; he passed away April 12, 2009. Mary worked at Ryburn King Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the OB Department and retired in 1980 as the house supervisor. She was a member of St. Francis Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by three children, Janet (Michael) Gillham, Ruth Halm, and Paul (Beth) Halm; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one brother Joseph Rose. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; one granddaughter, Sarah Archer; one sister, Teresa Conness; and two brothers, John Rose and Mike Rose.
