Mary Jo Gretencord

Mary Jo Gretencord, 67, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Pleasant View. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Stevenson officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, prior to services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Mary Jo was born August 13, 1947 in Ottawa, Illinois to Alfred and Margaret (Taylor) Gretencord. She retired from Huntsman Chemical Corporation. She was a member of Cross Bridge Community Church of the Nazareen. She enjoyed crafting, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family. She loved going to church and considered them not only friends but family. Most people would say she had a gypsy spirit because of her love for hats, chunky jewelry, and scarves. She is survived by daughter, Amy (Jack) Stufflebeam; one grand daughter, Sydney Stufflebeam, her mother, Margaret; five siblings, Linda Pate, Dennis (Marsha) Gretencord, David (Diane) Gretencord, Judy Gretencord, Susan (Ed) Riebe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred H. Gretencord; and one brother, Al Gretencord. Pallbearers will be Jason, Dennis, Paul, and Aaron Gretencord, Ed Riebe, Derek and Logan Olszewski, and Jack Stufflebeam. Memorials may be directed to Cross Bridge Community Church of Nazareen or the Red Stocking.
