Mary Ellen Eichelkraut

Mary Ellen Eichelkraut, 91, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 Friday, January 5, 2018. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date. Mary Ellen was born August 29, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Clarence and Ellen (Annes) Schafer. She married Frank Eichelkraut June 29, 1946 at St. Patrick's Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of St. Columba Church and The Catholic Daughter's of the Americas. She is survived by her son, Jerry Eichelkraut; her grandchildren, Eric Eichelkraut, Jacob Neumann, Julie Eichelkraut, and Melissa Merritte; and her great-grandchildren, Evan and Aleisha Eichelkraut; and other foster great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank; her son, Tom Eichelkraut; and her daughter, Patricia Neumann. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's and LaSalle County Nursing Home.
