OTTAWA -- Mary Jane DaRif, 79, of Ottawa, died Friday, Feb. 1, at her home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m. Mrs. DaRif was born Feb. 22, 1928, in La Salle, to Ludwig and Anna (Juvancic) Lushina. She married James DaRif on May 30, 1953, at St. Roch's Church in La Salle. He died Nov. 15, 2002. She retired from Snap On Tools and was a member of St. Columba Church and Ottawa Elks Lodge. She is survived by a daughter, Susan DaRif of Ottawa; a son, James F. (Mary) of Twinsburg, Ohio; two grandchildren, Keith and Bobbi; a sister, Dorothy (Glenn) Stevenson of Utica; and three brothers, Ludwig (Carol) Lushina of Troy Grove, James (Pearl) Lushina of Hillsboro, Ore., and William Lushina of La Salle. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Marie Wangler, and a son, Jonathon in infancy. Pallbearers will be Tom and Tim Stevenson, Tom DaRif, John Picco, Lee Lushina, Gerry Roach, Bill Wangler and Roger Coleman.
