Mary T. Clair, 91, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 6:45 pm on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and also 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday October 24, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Mary was born December 9, 1922 in Camden, New Jersey to Bernard and Margaret (Dooley) Mulroy. She married William M. Clair on May 4, 1946 in Camden, New Jersey; he passed away on January 28, 1998. She was a graduate of Peirce Business College in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to marrying her husband she was the secretary to the Vice President of RCA in Philadelphia. Mary was a member of St. Columba Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and Lambda Sigma Chi Sorority. She is survived by six sons; Dr. William (Sheila) Clair of Waukon, IA, Thomas (Mary) Clair of Ottawa, Dr. Daniel (Cindy) Clair of Irving, TX, Michael (Kathy) Clair of Ottawa, John (Cathy) Clair of Glendale, AZ, Brian (Julia) Clair of Cedar Rapids, IA; two daughters, Anne (Mark) Hetelle of Ottawa, and June (Jeff) Lavender of San Antonio, TX; twenty three grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers; Francis (Pat) Mulroy of Sea Isle City, NJ, and Thomas Mulroy of Sarasota, FL; and one son in law, Dave Cole of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Colleen Cole; and two brothers, John and Bernard Mulroy. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to St. Columba building fund or to the family.
