Mary Alice Carter

Mary Alice Carter of Ottawa died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Carter was born February 14, 1930 in Ottawa to Edward K. (Mary A. McDonnell) Thompson. She married Buz Carter November 14, 1991 at St. Patrick Church, Ottawa. Mary is survived by three sons, Robert (Patti) Piercy of Ottawa, Dale (Cinda) Piercy of Humble, Texas and Keith (Deann) Piercy of Utica; one nephew whom she cared for, Jim Lorimer; six grandchildren, Rob, Kiley, Luke, Harley and Carter Piercy and Molly Dougherty; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Faith, Madeline and Liam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buz; two brothers, Leo and Richard Thompson and one sister, Lillian "Peg" Lorimer. Pallbearers will be Robert, Dale, Keith, Rob, Kiley and Harley Piercy and Jim Lorimer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke and Carter Piercy, Ed Dougherty and Brad Goldman.
