Mary (Landers) Brown, 92, of Wallace Township passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at her home.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 7, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Ottawa Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Church at 11:30 AM with Father Terrence Keehan and Fr. Nicholas Wilson concelebrating.

Mary was born November 1, 1929 to the late William and Elizabeth (Hardy) Landers.  She married James F. Brown on February 6, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Utica IL by Rev. Martin Coughlin.

In her early years Mary helped her husband on the farm farming and raising hogs.  She was employed by Westclox, Owens-Illinois and FBFM.  They enjoyed travelling to Canada and spending time during the winter months in Florida and Arizona, attending the Cubs Spring Training Camp with a group of friends from Ottawa.   They also spent their life enjoying their children and grandchildren playing sports and attending their games.  They were happily married for 66 years.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 2020.

Mary is survived by her son, Martin Brown and a daughter, Jane (Gary) Swords.  She is also survived by five grandchildren:  Lindsey (Micah) Mattingly, Scott (Tiffany) Brown, Corey (Bella) Brown, Andrew (Ashley) Swords and Kelly Swords and ten great-grandchildren: Austin, Caden, Brielle, Bowen and William Brown, Ryker and Emmitt Mattingly, Annabelle Johnson, Axel and Amelia Swords.

Also survived is a sister, Judith Landers and sister-in-law, Lorraine (Gerald) Briel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ronald Coleman and daughter-in-law Marsha Brown.

Pallbearers will be Micah Mattingly, Scott and Corey Brown, Andrew Swords, Trevor Alonzo and Jerry McConville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St Patrick’s Church and Marquette High School.
