Mary Lucille Baker, 88, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. Tony Felvo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 PM with Catholic Daughters of The Americas. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Mary Lou was born March 1, 1927 in Ottawa, Illinois to Raymond and Sylvia (Blumenthal) McCormick. She married Emmett Baker on February 26, 1949 at St. Columba Church. Mary Lou was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Catholic Daughters of The Americas. Mary Lou was the crossing guard for Shabbona School and she was the lunchroom monitor at Central Elementary School. She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Leonard) Brown, Martha (Mike) Harden, and Karol Lynn (Bruce Hawkins) Baker; four sons, Thomas (Sally) Baker, Michael (Karen) Baker, Robert (Liz Rawson) Baker, and Vincent (Jennifer) Baker; her son-in-law, John Felty; three sisters, Barbara (Mel) Hallett, Shirley (Jack) Armstrong, Pat (Fred) Foster; three brothers, Gerald (Cecelia) McCormick, Dale (Carol) McCormick, and Donald (Betty) McCormick; sister-in-law, Jane McCormick; twenty-one grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents; her husband, Emmett F. Baker; her daughter, Karen Felty; one brother, Francis McCormick; and one sister, Peggy Dille. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church or Pleasant View.
