Mary Ellen Alberti Cantell

Mary Ellen Alberti Cantell, 53, of Naplate passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am Monday, one hour prior to services, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with her services. Mary Ellen was born February 26, 1964 in Ottawa, Illinois to Faustino and Jean (Dinelli) Alberti. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 1982. After graduation she attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked at Community Hospital of Ottawa for several years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's. Her friends knew not to call during her favorite TV show Dancing with the Stars which she watched faithfully. She was also a loyal Cubs fan. She is survived by her brother, John Michael Alberti; numerous cousins especially Nancy (Frank) Legner and Peter (Mary) Verdun; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Linda Jean Alberti. Memorials may be directed to her family.
