Mark L. Rossiter

Mark L. Rossiter, 68, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral Services will be at 6 pm, Tuesday, January 8 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm, prior to the services, at the funeral home. He will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery.

Mark was born August 22, 1950, in Ottawa to Robert "Bob" and Elizabeth "Betty" (McGinnis) Rossiter. He retired from Pipefitters Local Union 597. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Columba Church. Mark very much enjoyed the game of golf, and was a member of Pine Hills Golf Club. He also enjoyed playing a good game of snooker with his buddies. He was an entertainer who loved making his friends and family laugh.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Rossiter; four children, Ryan (Elena) Rossiter of New Lenox, Ellie Rossiter of Ottawa, Patrick (Megan) Rossiter of Ottawa, and Evan (Myleigh) Rossiter of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Lydia, Nora, and Jack; two sisters, Sue Grey of Ottawa and Robin (Gary) Miller of Coralville, Iowa; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rossiter; grandparents, Joseph and Dora McGinnis and Walter and Emma Rossiter; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bernie Sexton, Denis Muenzenmayer, Jim Foutch, David Edwall, Budd Dilley, and B.J. Sipula.
