Mark Matson

Mark Sheldon Matson, 63, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held 10:30 - 12:00 Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Praise Center Church, 3040 E. 18th Road, Ottawa. Following the visitation a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon. Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with his arrangements. Mark was born October 4, 1951 in Princeton, Illinois to Sheldon and Jean (Kelish) Matson. He married Colleen McNamara on July 16, 1971. He was a die-hard White Sox and Blackhawks fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Colleen; three children, Cory Matson of Ottawa, Shawn Matson of Kansas City, Missouri. and Ryan (Crystal) Matson of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Holly Pinney, Delaney Matson, Neahmiah, Madison, and Mark Matson; one sister, Terrie Matson; one brother, Layne (Irma) Matson; close family, Danny (Faith) McNamara, Suzie McNamara, Tommy (Donna) McNamara; sister in law Kim; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to family.
